Jacek’s Art
I am a painter of the soul, portraying our inner landscapes. Like the painters of the past, I strive to comment on reality using the language of symbols, sometimes taking on the lighter side of the world. The artist’s focus should be not only on the colors and shapes. Art worth its description attempts to capture and transcribe ideas and relations to the viewer using symbols and objects. For example, a well-known image of the swirling smoke of an extinguished candle, often used in 18th-century European art, expresses the melancholy of the passing time. You will find a similar approach in many images shown here. Colors and forms are only the vehicle to transcribe ideas relevant to our being. Renessan’s art of interpretation is gone, but the message enables the artist to create original images, and the contemporary viewer, not even understanding the meaning, feels its presence.
